Hi everyone,

I am Ipek Ozkardeskaya, an economist, a market enthusiast and a commentator. I provide practical analysis on FX, leading market indices, individual stocks, oil, commodities, bonds and interest rates. I am regularly quoted in Bloomberg, Reuters, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Fortune, and many more. I hold a Bachelor’s in Economics and a Master’s in Financial Engineering and Risk Management from HEC Lausanne, University of Lausanne.

Rapidly, my financial journey began in 2010 on the structured products desk at Banque Cantonale Vaudoise in Switzerland. I then worked at HSBC Private Bank in Geneva, serving high and ultra-high-net-worth clients. In 2012, I joined Swissquote Bank as an FX Strategist and later took on roles as Senior Market Analyst in London and Shanghai. In 2020, I returned to Swissquote Bank as a Senior Analyst.
I am passionate about the interplay between economic fundamentals and financial markets. Over the past decade, I have observed and analyzed these relationships while living in Geneva, London, and Shanghai. I am fluent in English, French, and Turkish, with a basic knowledge of Mandarin (yes!)
